NOW ENROLLING: Family School Readiness Program
for children ages 3 to 5 and their parents/caregivers
We are now enrolling families in the SEEDS for School Readiness Program.
The 15-week research program meets two days per week (3 hours each day).

Children's play-based classroom includes:
- circle time to practice listening and following instructions
- activity centers to practice sharing, turn-taking, expressing feelings, and cooperating
- skill-building for early reading and math
The concurrent parent education group includes:
- hands-on workshops for how to work best with schools and teachers
- weekly tool kits with books and games to guide at-home play
Who can participate?
- English-speaking parents/caregivers (foster parents, adoptive parents, birth parents, relative caregivers) with a child 3, 4, or 5 years old.
- Child has possible prenatal alcohol (and/or drug) exposure.
We anticipate high demand for this program. Some families will begin the program in September; others will begin in 2014.
This program is FREE.
Parents/caregivers can earn DCFS foster parent training credits and up to $90 may be earned for visits before and after the program.
